Fires of Portugal
Here’s a bit of my background and the company’s history.
I’m Geoff and together with wife, Carol, we have been “Fires of Portugal” since 2000. We like to think we have built up a small company with a big reputation. We work from home in Fonte Figueira, Salir, which is due north of Loule. You are very welcome to come and see our display, but please call first so someone is available to help.
I moved to Portugal from Sheffield in 1987 having served my apprenticeship in the plumbing and heating trade which I have now adapted to the idiosyncrasies of Portugal!
I have always enjoyed a challenge and fitting fires into some of the shapes and sizes of local fireplaces has certainly given me loads of experience.
I fit a choice of fires from selected agencies. We import from England, the Hunter, Villager and Aarrow ranges. These are the traditional style free standing wood burners, some of which have griddles and ash pans, others can have boilers and all have guarantees.
However, for those who prefer the more contemporary INSET style, the locally manufactured “Fogo Montanha” range offers a stunning alternative. This range is wood burning or gas.
I am very “hands on” so it will be me who quotes, fits, smoke tests and offers advice on using the fire to its optimum capability. For any alterations to fireplaces or chimney building I have a small work force.
